Hydrangea scandens


A deciduous shrub with pale greyish brown smooth bark.

Leaves are opposite, ovate oblong, acuminate at the apex, shallowly serrate on the margin.

They are bright green above, paler beneath, puberulent on the nerves.

Flowers open in May to June on new short shoots with a few white sterile flowers.

It is commonly found in low mountains on the Pacific side of Japan.

It is planted for garden tree.

Distribution ; Honshu,Shikoku, Kyushu
