Hydrangea luteo-venosa
Leaves are opposite, elliptic to narrowly oblong, acute to short-acuminate, with a mucronate tip at the apex, cuneate at the base, serrated on the upper half.
Petioles are 2-5mm long, pubescent, grooved above.
Flowers open in May to June in terminal 10-20-flowered cymes on new short shoots.
Capsules ripening in October to November.
This is a very common shrub in wood and thickets on hills and low mountains of the warm-temperate zone in Japan.
It is planted for garden tree.
