Euonymus japonica
Leaves are opposite, elliptic, obovate or oblong, acute or obtuse at the apex, cuneate or rounded at the base, crenate with caducous short aristate tips on the margin, coriaceous, deep green and lustrous above, paler beneath.
Flowering in June to July on new shoots, greenish-white flowers
Capsules riping pink to brownish in November to December.
This is commonly found on thickets and woods near the sea in the warn temperate zone of Japan.
It is planted for garden trees and for the hedge.
