Weigela decora


A deciduous shrub with dark greyish brown fissured bark.

Leaves are opposite, oval to oblong, subabruptly acuminate at the apex, depressedly serrulate on the margin, white-villose on the midrib beneath.

On new lateral shoots white then changing to red flowers open in June to July.

This tree is found on sunny places in the cool temperate zone.

It is planted for garden trees.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu
