Melia Azedarach var. subtripinnata


A large deciduous tree with blackish brown bark.

Leaves are alternate, twice-pinnate. Leaflets are crenate on the margin, shinning green above, pale green beneath.

Many violet flowers open in May to June.

It grows on the shore in the warm temperate zone.

The wood is used for furnitures. The tree s are planted as street trees and garden trees.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Ryukyu, Korea
