Leaves are opposite, broadly ovate, undivided, long acuminate at the apex, shallowly cordate at the base.

This tree is commonly found in low mountains, prefering sunny and dry places.

The wood is used for furnitures,utensils, chopsticks, wood shavings. It is planted for garden trees.
