Akamatsu
Pinus densiflora


A large evergreen tree with reddish brown and thin scaly bark.

Leaves are in clusters of two.

This species is an intolerant tree and able to endure dryness.

It is also extensively planted on barren area.

The wood is used for buildings, ships, vehicles, utensils, paper pulp and charcoal.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu
